So, what's all this about a LuWOW?

On Saturday, November 17, 2012, the best art fundraiser event of the year will be held at the Earthscapes Garden Room. You'll be in the midst of beautiful flowers, outdoor waterfalls and lush reminders of why we love living in Florida.

Earthscapes Garden Room is located at 816 Alternate 19, Palm Harbor,  34683.

Of course you know that SHAMc will soon be an exciting Safety Harbor venue. The SHAMc Collective is still raising money and moving forward.

It may have occurred to you that this time Kiaralinda and Todd have taken the fun outside of the Harbor. Why? Well, there are several reasons! Kiaralinda's fellow Garden Fairy and friend Siobhan Nehin often visits Earthscapes for her landscaping business. "It's a gorgeous and appropriate place for a party in paradise," she said. Siobhan is right -- it's a perfect location for a tropical party!

It's also a great way to share the SHAMc idea with people outside of Safety Harbor.
Earthscapes Garden room is known in for its lush greenery, bright flowers and outdoor ambiance. They are host to weddings, fundraising events and graduation parties. "They're an integral part of the community," Siobhan added.

The event will begin at 5:00 and will continue until 9 p.m.. Dress in your favorite tropical attire and come prepared to have fun. Bid on a wide array of silent auction experiences and items, dance, eat, and celebrate the art and fun that SHAMc represents. Drink tickets will also be available for purchase.

Silent Auction

Bid on  a 3-hour charter catamaran excursion on Rena, a beautiful 70-foot boat built by John Orme. You'll be able to pack food and drink, bring your friends and enjoy your trip down the Anclote River to Three Rooker Island. John and Lisa decided to donate this chartered trip because they are passionate about the arts. John is a craftsman himself.  He actually built Rena along with many other like her, out of his and Lisa's Tarpon Springs boat business.

"We wanted to do something to support what Todd and Kiaralinda are doing," said Lisa, who recommends the charter be taken in February or March, when the weather is perfect for such a trip. "We will take the silent auction winner and his or her friends on a sunset cruise to the island," she said. "The Art and Music Center is a good cause. Todd and Kiaralinda's energy is amazing and we love that they are bringing art and music to people who otherwise might not experience it."

For those of you who may not want to ride a 70-foot catamaran, how about a smaller boat ride on Lake Tarpon for an alligator hunt? The winner of this silent auction prize will join Eric Ramquist, a state licensed gator trapper, in fall 2013, when the next season opens. This may not be for everyone, but for the person wanting to experience a live gator hunt with professionals, this is your chance! Plan to bring jeans and boots and to be up for several hours into the night.

"I will scout the gator earlier that day," Eric said. "It's really exciting, but it's not anything like you see on TV. We'll take one or two people out and it may take about three hours to catch one. Then it takes another six hours or so to clean.. We do clean them ourselves and the meat can be taken home to eat."

Eric said that the last gator he trapped was 12-feet long and took five of them to lift it out of the water.

There will be plenty of other items and experiences besides what's posted here. We've just got word that a chef will be donating his skills to cook a fabulous meal at your home! You'll have to attend the event to see all the cool stuff ... but here are a few more items that might entice you ...

Look at this colorful mosaic guitar created by Ginny Allen and Holly Apperson! This beauty will go quick, so be prepared to bid early and late! The guitar is one of a kind!

Love pottery? Look at these beautiful examples of art that Jill Tortorilla of Antioch Pottery has created. Jill has donated several unique pieces to our silent auction. All her pieces are amazing, so make sure you get a closer look during LuWow!
